Understanding Drosera lat.

Claudio C Araujo MD, FFHom et al.

Following the symptoms present in our MM, a group comes before our eyes: This patient is restless, anxious and afraid. A very subtle dangerous feeling has been surrounding this patient maybe all his life and he needs to prevent oneself from what may happens to him:

As a hypothesis, we can imagine Drosera as a child suffering from fears during childhood:

Dread of ghosts and of being alone.
Anxiety, esp. (in the evening) in solitude, with fear of ghosts.

Inquietude respecting the future.

Later during adulhood, he is now suffering from the consequences of feeling being threathened since childhood:

He is dull and despondent about the troubles of life, which men cause each other and him, about which he is anxious and solicitous, together with loss of appetite,

Dreams: vivid; partly pleasant, partly anxious;

Why is that? Regarding his relationship with people around, what Drosera perceives, that is coming from the people nearby?

Anxiety, as if his enemies allowed him no rest, but persecuted and pursued him,

Restless mood and anxiety the whole day; full of distrust, as if he were dealing with none but false men,

Extremely uneasy, sad mood the whole day; he imagines that the would be deceived by tricky, designing men,

As a child,  is the Drosera patient having difficultied at school? Will his parents been called by his teacher due to  Drosera´s difficulties when learning any given subject??

Restlessness, which does not allow prolonged attention to the same object.

Mental restlessness; when reading cannot dwell long on one subject, must change to something else.
Uneasiness; while reading, he is unable to keep his mind upon any subject, but is constantly obliged to change to another

Maybe the most important strategy imagined preventing the Drosera patient  from being affected by the others is that he knows at some point that he needs to do what is the right thing to do to in order protect oneself.

Dreams: Joyful, good courage; he had no fear of evil, because he was conscious of having done right,  Reaction, curative action. -Hahnemann.

Drosera shown us two possibilities: to behavior accordling the norms of society, becoming a good willed person – therefore protecting oneself from the violence coming from the others or, once overtaken by despair, wanting to take one´s own life in order to stop being harrassed by one´s own immagined fears:

Discouragement.

Inclination to drown oneself.

Anxiety, especially in the evening about 7 or 8 o'clock, as if he were impelled to jump into the water in order to take his life by drowning; he was not impelled to any other kind of suicide,.

Anxiety, with sudden flushes of heat over the whole body, especially over the whole face, as if he should hear unpleasant news, and again shivers over the whole body, without heat or sweat,

Hahnemann points up a group of curative symptoms that shall enbody the whole understanding of this remedy:

Dreams: Joyful, good courage; he had no fear of evil, because he was conscious of having done right,  Reaction, curative action. -Hahnemann.

Quiet mood, Reaction, curative action. - Hahnemann.

Internal quiet and good humor, Reaction, curative action. - Hahnemann.
