Understanding Elaps cor.

The Elaps cor. patient is entangled with his old memories - bringing back over and over the sad events of his  past, reliving old wounds . Something painful happened in his early life and he can´t get rid of it. He can´t bury his memories, his old ghosts, his early sad life. Our patient must be someone tormented by his memories and being assaulted from time to time by his painful past experiences. This is represented in the proving by the symptoms that are related to the dead. He kept them near, he embraces them, he hurt the old wounds that belonged to the dead, to a corpse, to “someone” who lived long ago - Elaps can´t let the corpses to be buried, but he embraces the dead bodies, keeping his early hard experiences nearby.

Dreams of dead persons. 

Frightful dreams; she puts a dead body in the shroud, and digs a knife into its wounds, afterwards she feels sorely remorseful, and weeps copiously (sixth day), [2]. 

Dreams about dead people; she embraces them; falls into pits where her feet are entangled; walks criss-cross (fifth day), [2]. 

Carrying old corpses with him along his whole live - we can imagine how the Elaps cor. patient feels: He is angry, he wants to be alone, don´t want to be bothered and he is looking for a place where he can scream out the pains from his soul.

 Irresistible desire to scream at the top of her voice (seventh day), [2]. 
Angry about one's self, does not wish to be spoken to. 
At the least contrariety, body shudders, blood boils, with prickling. 

Inclination to strike and pick a quarrel (sixth day), [2]. 

Peevish in the afternoon, did not want to be spoken to, even fretful about herself (fourth day), [3]. 

Elaps may be an angry person, aggressive, with taints of violence. He is very angry due to the renewal of the offenses and the painful experiences he had suffered long ago –  he can´t get rid them out of his memory. 

Reveries in the daytime; he imagines he is being beaten (first to third day), [1]. 

Fearfulness, dread of being alone, as though something would happen, or as though rowdies would break in (eighth day), [3]. 

Inclination to strike and pick a quarrel (sixth day), [2]. 

Peevish in the afternoon, did not want to be spoken to, even fretful about herself (fourth day), [3]. 

She dreams of fighting with a galley-slave (sixth day), [2]. 

Some of his violence may be expressed by biting things, people or himself.

She bites her own forearm in a dream (fifth day), [2]. 

He bites his hand in sleep, without waking up (fourth day), [2]. 

He doesn´t want to be bothered, wants to be alone and quiet. He is looking for a place where he would not be asked, bothered, disturbed.

Depression of spirits, and desire for solitude. 

Desire to the alone; she takes refuge for days together in a corner of the antechamber (seventh day), [2]. 

She seeks a retired room to work in (seventh day), [2]. 

Depression of spirits; desires to be in a deep cavern, where he can see no one (ninth day), [2]. 

She wishes to leave the house just when she is going to bed (seventh day), [2]. [10.]

But his sad memories, his “shrouded corpses” will be always with him, as he embraces them.
